When conceiving this work, I immediately felt the responsibility to narrate children in pain, parents who share and support and the healthcare workers, doctors and nurses, looking after them. Such pain, the subtext to this painting, is driven away by the sentence – “All will be good” – as my mother used to say to me as a kid when I was unwell. A sentence which is not a real medicine, but holds a pacifying power and brings good luck. 

Children can heal us. Our task as adults is to let them do it, to make it possible for them to take care of our society, both in ordinary situations and extraordinary circumstances.
